Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke by phone with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Spokesman for the Presidency Counselor Ahmed Fahmy said President El-Sisi congratulated the Greek prime minister on the great electoral victory achieved by the ruling party in the parliamentary elections that took place last June. The elections’ results confirmed the confidence of the Greek voter in the prime minister and his policies. The President also expressed that Egypt holds in high esteem the strong cooperation relations with Greece, stressing keenness to continue strengthening them at all levels, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Cyprus.
The Greek prime minister thanked the President, stressing the strong and distinct relations between Egypt and Greece. He also expressed his country’s mutual keenness to enhance joint cooperation with Egypt at various levels, as well as continuing intensive consultations on issues of common interest, especially developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the repercussions of the current crises in the economy, food and energy worldwide.
